_Vessels_
These hand-potted terracotta vases are the tools to be used during the performance. They vary in size and volume, from teacup-sized up to holding several liters of liquid. Some are equipped with small outlets, so water can be distributed into other vessels beneath, creating a tree-like water flow as depicted in the collage.

__abstract__
Inspired by the "Chafariz de Sao Bento" from 1528, which, after the destruction of the Convent was transferred to the Parque das Aguas, the cascating movement of the waters are to be applied to a performence of pooring, transferring and refilling. In the past, the way of the waters didn´t just end at the fountain - it was extended into the houses by virtue of vessels (buckets, vases etc.). However, the state of the water changed, from a constant stream into a secluded pont, transferred from container to container, until it would reach it´s final destination.
I intend to loop these moments of transfer - creating an endless circle of taking water from and giving it back to the source. I want to explore different types of vessels made from ceramics that can be played with - tools of transfer, some seemingly useless as they have holes worked into their bodies to create sort of portable chafarizes, referencing the cascades of the fountain.
All vessels must be portable by a single human in order to allow freedom of movement as the goal is to create a "choreography of pitchers", with different parts of the body being involved to carry the load.
