Creatures was a duo with Canadian drummer and producer Kai Basanta. After meeting at the Banff Center in 2014, the group collaborated and toured in the US, Canada, and Iceland, using bowed bass, drums, electronics and voice to create songs, beats and ambient tracks. Select performances include sets at Shapeshifter Lab (Brooklyn NY) Mengi Art Space (Reykjavik, IS) and Bread and Salt (San Diego, CA).
The group was active from 2015-2018, often working long distance to experiment with production and creation with unusual instrumentations in a pop setting, whether making band arrangements for solo bass-voice pieces (Loose Cannon) writing and arranging new songs (Travel Light) or producing more freely with custom sample libraries (If I Knew).
