„But plants have feeling too!”- artistic intervention, vegan lecture performance directed by Viktória Makra:
The show kicks off with a vegan street protest called CUBE. Instead of the usual shocking images, we're flipping it with cute animals to make a point. Then, our characters step up one by one, sharing their stories directly with you. They talk about why they're here, the tough stuff they're dealing with, and what really gets to them. We dig into their motivations, past teasing, and why they might've teased others.
As the performance rolls on, the actors dig into these themes. They look at why they're part of this, what drives them, and how they relate to animals and protecting them. We're asking questions about how far or close this topic is to them and if they've ever judged or been judged for being different.
Our goal is to get everyone thinking, foster acceptance, and get a real conversation going. After the intros, we invite you to a picnic. You get to pick veggies and fruits – some wrapped in plastic, some from far away, and some local. In small groups, each linked to a performer, you'll hear personal stories about food, tradition, family, home, and caring for the environment and animals. We want you to share your own experiences too.
Then, we go silent, diving into the world of chicken farms. After reconnecting with our animal side, we shift to exploring the park, looking at trees and flowers with you. It's a chill, reflective experience, trying to understand the world around us. This nature immersion is always adapted to fit where we are, hopefully bringing everyone close.
We close our story by dancing, singing, and eating together with the audience.
Immersive, fun, deep and thoughtful. That’s what we got as feedback so far.
