I.     WALKING AND CREATING ASSOCIATIVE AND INTUITIVE DRAWINGS -

A practice based, experimental artistic process

During my artist residency on Björkö, I was focusing on walking in nature

and to deepen my connection with the natural world, nurture my creativity,

and contribute to a greater appreciation and understanding of the

environment through my art.

While walking, thoughts, memories and feelings are taking their turns in

my mind. I tried to keep that inner process and used it to make associative,

intuitive drawings, which formed a “map” on my studio wall.  While looking

at the drawings, it conveys a feeling of “walking” between the pieces and

allows the spectator to make their own associative connections.

I was inspired by the shapes and textures I found in nature, during my

walks. For the drawings I was experimenting with natural pigments from

plants and soil from Björkö.
