PITCH!
THE PACIFIC PATCH PEOPLE — A CLIMATE FICTION STORY
This presentation was made for external parties, such as material supplier, to inform them about the project and the short film. It is a summarised version of the treatment above. Furthermore it includes also a statement about how we want to produce the short film: as climate neutral as possible.
Producing climate-neutral is that even possible? In the next document below, my essay, I address this issue in the third chapter.

ESSAY!
Telling Stories About Our Future — in an Age of Climate Change
Can hopeful stories created with world-building inspire moviegoers and serie-streamers and activate change in their behaviour?
In this essay I am reflecting on how I have been triple challenging myself as a production designer in the film industry.
Challenge 1: TELL a different kind of story on climate change
Challenge 2: CREATE it with the world-building method as a starting point
Challenge 3: PRODUCE it as climate-neutral as possible
With the fictional world of the Pacific Patch People at the center of my two-year masters, I have done theoretical research of which you will read my findings in the document to your left. These findings have influenced the practical side of my studies (creating a world-building bible and a short film about this future civilisation) to a great and quite unforeseen extent.
In case you don't have time to read the whole essay right now:

TREATMENT
THE PACIFIC PATCH PEOPLE — A CLIMATE FICTION STORY
This presentation was made for the crew and cast of the short film: a trailer to show the world of the Patch People.
In this document I explain my overall vision with the project - from the initial idea and the research to the desired outcome. I address each department (sound, light, editing, photography, costume etc) separately, explaining how I see the world of Pacific Patch People is taking shape in all elements of the film.
And of course there are loads of images in this document. Moodboards that explain my ideas about the visual language of the world of the Pacific Patch People.
