Why participatory events (group events) in Period 3

In Period 3, I plan on organizing two participatory events - one on Toronto Island and another in my residential neighbourhood in Pickering.

In Period 2, my participatory experiments were all single-participant experiments. While they sensorily engaged participants with socio-spatial aspects of their neighbourhood public spaces, the experience and understanding were personal and were limited to each participant only.

In period 3, I am interested in organizing multi-participant participatory events. The aim is to develop a collective understanding of residential neighbourhoods' socio-spatial aspects of public spaces and subsequently create an increased sense of belonging to the neighbourhood community not only at a personal level but also at a collective level. The events or experiments will still deploy sensory means - visual and auditory - to initiate sensory engagement with neighbourhood public spaces.

Participatory Experiments in Period 1 & 2 primarily invited solo participation.
