HALL12 - Encounter Activism is a collaborative research project by a group of European art professionals: Efrosyni Tsiritaki (GR) , Jenny Case (UK), Liga Zepa (LV), Menzo Kircz (NL), Shaly López and Ieva Dzindza. They are related through the TAAT-collective, founded by Breg Horemans (BE) and Gert-Jan Stam (NL) in 2012. Together they are building an open source practice through ‘staging encounters between unknown Others’ (Levinas), working towards HALL33.
HALL12 - Encounter Activism is an activist answer to current social distancing measures. In a series of ‘silent walks’ in Riga, Athens, Dundee, Amsterdam and Brussels we invite people to occupy ‘a space for solidarity’ through a custom made walking experience transforming social distancing into an experience of shareability.
