‘GEOPOLYTICAL QUEER MAP OF EURASIA’, according to Kreolex zentre, 2021—2022
The map represents a collection of various DIY initiatives, small queer-fem organisations and underground art/activist spaces and collectives — mostly from post-soviet territories, but not only. All the names were collected via personal communication with the respective initiatives and placed on the map in an order that does not reflect their actual locations, given the fact that some of them are more imaginary than real. The terrain is resembling the actual geography of Eurasian continent and is depicted in the style of maps used in role-playing games. Moreover, the map is created as a part of a role-playing game for those involved into the communities depicted. Constructing an imaginary world of queer geo-polytics, the map reveals underground queer-feminist and artistic networks which exist across the continent but are rarely acknowledged or made visible.
