REFLECTIONS ON AI WEEK
AI Week at Robert Gordon University:
- created space for interdisciplinary discussion
- provided practical tuition in basic creative use of AI
- pooled knowledge of staff (academic/technical), students, GIRs, alumni
- led to further interdisciplinary collaboration
The Generative Creativity Group (GCG) is a direct result of of AI Week. The core group began with four RGU staff members—Helen Scarlett O'Neill & Jim Hamlyn from Gray’s School of Art and Kyle Martin & Jamie McDonald from the School of Computing.
The GCG is currently exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and artistic expression by training Stable Diffusion on Gray’s archive and working with it to unlock new insights. They will present and demo their recent progress as part of Visual Science of Art Conference 2024.
