Voice 1: "So we analysed this book, right? (unintelligible) And the first question is: "In which country were they represented? Which country do I think seemed in the book?" And, for me, just by the quality of the cover, the quality of... the paper (...), it seems like Portugal. Because here in Mozambique the qualities of our books... And then by the images we went to check, the characters' origin in the images... represented white children and black men. And Rita's question was... (laughs) The question was fair... if it was... if it was fair that so few black children were represented there on those pages. And my answer was: "Maybe, because of the Portuguese reality, it is very white, right?” It didn't make much sense to represent black children in that reality. “Shouldn't black people be represented as belonging to a minority?” And it also raised the question: "Do Indians here in Mozambique not feel discriminated against because they are not represented?” [Voice 2] said: "No because they are only here to do business." And the agreement here, in Mozambique, is that they are only here to do business. The issue of representativeness (unintelligible)… of relevance. So, there was no agreement. It's just this aspect. The truth is that..."

Voice 2: "... the Indians are not in the books."

Voice 1: "The truth is that minorities are poorly represented here. They hardly gain space..."

Are these Portuguese people?

Who deserves to be represented?

Who/why should be invisible?

Who deserves spaces of representations?

Do you feel discrimination?
