Walking scores are tools for art, composition, choreography, and for being present in urban and other spaces. Walking scores explore the relationship between art and the everyday, helping us to relate to eachother and to space, helping us to listen in various environments and reflect on the border between the artist and the audiences. It helps us to read and rewrite space.
For WAP, the curators shared some historical 1960s walking scores by Anna and Lawrence Halprin, Yoko Ono and other Fluxus members. We then made 15 min-workshops to encourage each artist to formulate their own walking score with pen/pencil and a blank paper as tools. Other scores were made post residency. You find some of them here on this page. Please try them!
