What is the “bigger picture” / “issue” you want to address in relation to this topic? For eg, Cultural identities, LGBTQ+, going beyond stereotypical representations of people, places, countries, genders etc. Choose 1 and go deep.
Gendergap and emancipation. How did traditional clothing affect the life and workstatus of women or did this play a role at all. Did this way of dressing stand in the way of emancipation of women? How was emancipation visible in the change of dressing of women?

Who is responsible for finding out what information?
We will be collectively gathering information on the topic to get an overview and after that we will divide subtopics to research further.

The subtopics could be something like: Origin of traditional clothing in the Netherlands, Evolution of traditional clothing in NL, relationship between work and way of dressing.

What do you want your viewer to learn from looking at your exhibition page?
The change in societal's view of women influenced and visualized by traditional Dutch clothing. How women have been breaking free from stereotypes.

How do you intend to achieve this for your viewer? (How do you intend to get
information)

Gathering information by doing theoretical and litarature research (visual research) next to conducting interviews, talking to people.

Playing with with visual images of different times (combining them, showing them side by side) to show them something they have not seen yet, to make them see the connections, the differences etc.

Possibly by making a short video or taking pictures.

We are also very interested in the social economic differences within traditional clothing. Traditional clothing is often associated with more working class. which is in contras with a lot of the other historic clothing you learn about. This is often based on higher class fashion and art.
