HOW CAN WE CRITIQUE IMMERSION WHEN THE OBJECT IS ABSENT?

WHEN THE ARTIFACT HAS VANISHED, WHERE DOES ART LINGER?


During winter term 22/23 and summer term 23, the class listened regularly to multichannel pieces from the past 60 years . These sessions were followed by discussions on personal impressions, ideas and spatial concepts inherent to the works and historical and technical aspects of producing spaces.

 


By this, the group slowly developed a shared perceptional space based on verbalisation and exchange.


In the following students conceived their own pieces, using the HfG loudspeaker half-sphere with different software and hardware approaches for the final concert evening at HfM Karlsruhe.
