INOUT in dialogue with Universon by INOUT

Inout will interview Universon, an emerging multimedia artist who has been experimenting with various technologies, including artificial intelligence in recent years. Universon will describe the latest project "[S]", a virtual world in which one can live an alternative life and will talk about that world and how you can experience an other reality inside it thanks to the use of new technologies (virtual reality, etc ...). This work has been presented at EU4ART_differences Summer School "Digital Rites and Embodied Memories".

First AI Research

The main focus was to understand the actual situation of the research of the AI and how its skills are used in different fields of research (art, science etc etc...). So one of our choices was to ask the tool about it given the fact that the main object of our study is capable of taking part in a conversation; first we thought that the creation of a dataset was necessarry but the pre-trained models offered by NLPCloud were suitable enough for our purpose.

So, our research took the form of an interview, with the main topic (the AI) reflecting on itself.

We were capable of visualise what the "guest" was talking about through the use of DALL-E Mini by giving some of it's sentences as prompts (one of these were about its virtual world named Planet [S]).
