The DRESDEN-concept is a research alliance of the TUD together with the strong partnership of the research and culture areas resulting in the ideal way to communicate the excellence of research in Dresden. In particular, the co-operation of all DRESDEN-concept partners is aimed at the development and use of synergies in research, education, infrastructure, and administration. Partners co-ordinate strategies to support Dresden’s leading areas and identify new emerging scientific areas. The DRESDEN-concept alliance also works on a joint initiative to attract top talents and to convince the best to come to Dresden.
Dresden is not only rich in famous sights, there are also around 13,000 cultural monuments and 8 districts under general preservation orders to be found within its boundaries. The majority of these cultural monuments are looked after by the Office for Culture and Monument Preservation of the City of Dresden. The department responsible for monument preservation organises regular public meetings and lectures on various aspects of the topic, arranges tours of selected areas, subject to prior appointment, and presents its activities within the framework of various exhibitions.
The Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, established in 1883 for the purpose of documenting the "living" art is nowadays a museum with two souls, just like two are the centuries it deals with: the 19th and 20th. Its important collection one the one hand mirrors the cultural events of the unitary italian state with their international reflections, on the other hand it reflects the great historical reserve of the italian contemporary art system
The task of the Hungarian National Museum is to collect, preserve and present the history of the former inhabitants of the Carpathian Basin and the memories of the history of the Hungarian people to this day. In our collection of millions of objects, world-famous archaeological finds, the history of Hungarian history and cultural history is invaluable.
The Istituto Centrale per la Grafica originated from the union of Calcografia Nazionale and National Cabinet of Prints and Drawing, whose ancient tradition has defined its highly specialistic profile. The Institute houses collection of prints, drawings, photographies and its activity is supported by highly specialized conservation and restoration laboratories, as well as ateliers in printing techniques
Jugend- & Kulturprojekt e.V. (JKPeV) conceives and implements project which have a social impact, promote diversity and inclusion as well as foster active participation and civic engagement in dedication to education, culture and art. It is a team of project, culture and event managers, sociologists, youth workers, researchers, artists, designers and cinematographers who wish to make Dresden and other cities in Europe better places to live, grow, create and peacefully co-exist in.
LAC is an interdisciplinary higher education institution of culture and arts and a centre for cultural research, artistic work and creative entrepreneurship. The origins of LAC are closely related to the spirit of freedom and cultural renaissance that prevailed in Latvia at the time. LAC make a great contribution to the development of cultural and artistic research, performing arts (theatre and dance), film and audiovisual arts, cultural and creative industries both in Latvia and internationally.
It is the largest institution of contemporary art in Latvia that curates and produces contemporary art events of national and international scale. As of 1993, it has researched and curated contemporary art processes both in Latvia and abroad to provoke critical reflection on issues topical for contemporary society. We are widely recognized for our annual international contemporary art festival Survival Kit, regular exhibitions at the Latvian National Art Museum, as well as Latvian participation at the Venice Biennale, São Paulo Art Biennial, Kochi-Muziris Biennale, Rauma Biennale of Contemporary Art. LCCA holds the only archive of Latvian contemporary art.
The MMU provides a broad range of architecture, art, design, media and theatre as well as undergraduate and postgraduate courses in a unique creative environment that encourages creative collaboration across the disciplines. They are home to around 3,700 students from all corners of the world who study a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses taking inspiration from specialist staff, Manchester and each other.
Their perspective on art as a unique principle of human expression that overcomes national borders and is open to the world, motivated the founders and continues to define the activity of the Peter and Irene Ludwig Foundation. Elucidating the qualities and meanings art possesses across history, cultures and countries, highlighting its universal value, inspires our intellectual approach. World art is a guiding principle. The Ludwigs broadened their perspective early on to include non-European regions and pursue the idea of a global art. 28 public institutions are linked to us globally. Outside of Germany, we are active in Cuba, China, Russia, Hungary, Austria, and Switzerland.
The School of Architecture of the University of Florence has its origins in the “School of Architecture” of the Fine Arts Academy, located in Piazza S. Marco-Via Ricasoli.The Institution with a comprehensive study programme providing students with the technical and scientific, as well as the historical and critical knowledge necessary for the practice of architecture and design.
The museum not only houses the extensive colletion of arts, archaeology and ethno-antropologhy gathered by the Popes over the centuries, but also contains some of the apostolic palaces most extraordinary and artistically significant rooms. Today most of Pope Alexander VI rooms are used to display the collection of the contemporary art inaugurated by Pope Paul VI in 1973
