Private color photography has become an integral part of everyday culture and it is impossible to imagine life today without it. Almost everyone takes photos. Since the invention of photography in the 19th century, the technology has continued to develop.
The focus of my investigation is the private color photography of so-called hobby photographers or amateur photographers from the analog beginnings in the 1950s to today's digital color photography and its upload on social media platforms.
The basis is a long term archive of photographs collected and created by me.
The photographic material is to be archivally sorted, evaluated and then in turn laid out in terms of content and form into individual chapters, theoretically described, published and contrasted.
Among other things, the archive is to make visible the technical development, the change of the picture language and the representation of people and at the same time to examine the articulation by means of the color photography.
