This research studies daily experiences of caring activities (nourishment) through sound. The aim is to reclaim their value and place within academic studies and epistemology, as well as to document those customs that are slowly fading away. Specifically, it has been chosen the elaboration of ajoblanco (typical south-Spanish food), as it is traditionally prepared with a wood mortar. This object is also used as a musical instrument in Extremadura’s traditional music, which reveals the curiosity around its sound. Furthermore, this research considers spaces and the way of thinking of them from a sound point of view. In conclusion, rural women’s individuality and subjectivity is studied through different ways of making ajoblanco and its soundcape. Keywords: soundscape, subjectivity, caring activities, spaces

A través del estudio sonoro de las experiencias cotidianas que participan de las actividades de cuidados, se ha tratado proceder a una revalorización de las mismas. Con ello se procede también a la documentación y recuperación de costumbres que poco a poco se van perdiendo, como sería la realización del ajoblanco en mortero de madera. La inclusión de objeto en la música tradicional revela el interés sonoro por el mismo. Igualmente, esta investigación reflexiona acerca de los espacios y el modo de pensarlos desde un punto de vista sonoro, en lugar de visual. En suma, se estudia el reconocimiento de la individualidad y la subjetividad de mujeres rurales a través de los diferentes modos de hacer y del paisaje sonoro del preparado del ajoblanco.
