Part 1

Prologue: Tiresias' prophecy: Narcissus will live a long life if he will not meet himself.

Narcissus realises that what he hears are not his companions' voices but Echo's voice. Echo wants to reach him but he rejects her - he is not able to love but himself. She disappears but her voice remains, to finally die out. Narcissus is alone by the source and realise that the man he sees is not but himself. He dies and transform into a flower.

Part 2

Naples, Cerriglio tavern, 1609. People drinking, singing, dancing.

A young painter (Caravaggio's apprentice/Caravaggio himself) starts to insult a colleague and his art. He is soon surrounded and aggressed by a group of armed men: one will wound him with a sword. We hear voices saying that "he was injured so badly that his face was almost unrecognizable".

"There are news from Naples that Caravaggio, the famous painter, was killed, some say he was badly scarred."

Part 3

Medusa is the only mortal of the Gorgons, her sisters, Stheno and Euryale, are immortal. Impregnated by Poseidon, Medusa is condemned to a state of permanent pregnancy. The three Graeae are custodians of the Gorgons, the only ones to know where they are hidden, in some ravine near the ocean.

While the Graeae are asleep, Perseus flies over the ocean (he flew as fast as thought) looking for Medusa, finds and kills her, by severing her head.

Suddenly, the Gorgons scream, Medusa/Mary is dead. She finally gives birth to Pegasus and Chrysaor (lit. golden spear). Cries of dying/giving birth.
