Having received the invitation to show an installation version of Mäanderungen at the 2019 Pixxelpoint festival, this was an opportunity for ALMAT to take a look again at the software generator, and see if parts of it can be reimplemented with the current abstractions within the Mellite computer music framework.
The concept of reconfiguration however entails all aspects of "a work", also its physical properties, spatial display, etc. For Pixxelpoint, we reduced the installation to contain only the ceramic prints, this time extended from five to seven plates. In October 2019, we thus created three additional prints, which came out slightly different than the old ones (thinner and slightly larger, but also the clay was of a different type or different burning temperature). We decided to add a graphite process to perhaps enhance the relief structure of the prints.
