There is pressure to define and categorize sounds that are not native to the instrument. To make the sound digestible and appear not as 'mistake'for both myself and for my audience. I only see this logical fallacy now after I have made and uploaded the chart.
With a background in metalwork, I thought it only appropriate to explore buzz (similar to a wooden bray) with metal.
Initial trials of preparations were made with copper sheet and thin, flat copper.
While the attachments on the bridge are a result of a string moving, the attachment under the bridge is the result of the energy conducted into the metal. The result of the resonant copper under the bridge is later than the buzz of a metal bead attached to the bridge.
The metal can sometimes sustain long after the bow is gone based on the frequency that was produced by the violin. Some frequencies resonate the copper so that it sings, but other frequencies are not as attractive to the copper.
