The process

In these project, the poems are enhanced with colorful motion spots and ambient music. The visual material draws the viewer into the art and with the ambient sounds made from field recordings and simple melodies deepen the emotional resonance of the spoken poetry.

Each song creation began either with a poem or a sound recording captured in the city or during a social situation. The right sounds were extracted from these raw materials, and melodies were added to create an emotional foundation. Each track was shaped further through creative editing techniques, layering dimensions, and enhancing the emotional impact of the music.

The visual elements were developed in parallel, starting with the design of each track’s cover. These covers evolved into stop-motion animations, created from photographs and video materials that resonated with the themes of the songs.

Typography was used as a supporting graphical element. Each track has its one typography that resonates with the theme of the poem.

The finished project came out to be something that could be enrolled into the zone of so-called electronic property. Which is a form of digital literature that combines writing with multi-media and graphical elements that could not be recreated in printed media.  It is a new form of presenting poetry in creative ways and opens new options for the viewer to connect with the artwork.

Relocation is more than just moving to a new place; it’s an emotional roller coaster that makes you wander aimlessly. It’s the excitement of new beginnings, the discomfort of unfamiliarity, and the quiet moments of longing for what’s been left behind.

This project was created during an Erasmus semester at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Brno University of Theology in the Graphic Design Studio 2.  I named it Stravage Sound Diary, as my synonym is Stravage and I found it perfect as the word in Scottish and Irish means to wander aimlessly. The diary is my attempt to capture those aimless, wandering feelings of transition through poetry, sound, and visuals.

It’s not about finding answers but about documenting the journey, the questions, and the emotions that arise along the way.

Creatively, emotionally, and skill-wise, this project and the experiences it reflects pushed me out of my comfort zone and tested my limits. Learning new skills such as poetry writing and music production made this project a test of my abilities and creativity. Nevertheless, I enjoyed every part of it, and the result is a new way of documenting my journey. I am very thankful for my mentors and teachers at FaVU who made these projects possible and guided me threw the process. I believe this is just the beginning, and I look forward to continuing this exploration with new adventures in the future.

The idea

Something that started as a wish to create ambient tracks from sound recordings evolved into emotional diary entries. Four poems are presented, each showcasing a feeling or emotion the author experienced during a period of short-term relocation.

The soundtracks are intended as short diary entries, capturing inner struggles and moments of reflection. The idea was inspired by a desire to present personal challenges while exploring new forms of digital art. With almost no prior experience in poetry, music, or animation, this project became both a creative experiment and a significant challenge during a transitional phase of life.

Presentation

The tracks are arranged around the page that works as a canvas. The viewer engages with the page exploring its possibilities. The rewards for curiosity are audio motion spots found when clicking on song covers.

FAVU clausula’s and was presented on a tablet. The viewer explored the canvas and listened to the songs threw noise-cancelling headphones. That way the emotion was felt even in a crowded room
