Recently, SAR established alternating convening formats. "Forums" center Special Interest Groups (SIGs) with extended resource allotments. "Conferences" curate individual presentations, while still offering regular meeting opportunities for SIGs. We were fortunate that our SIG's first meeting in 2024 took place when SAR pioneered the extended forum format in Tilburg. SAR 16 Porto follows the conference format.
The SIG Facilitating as Creative Practice remains interested in the wide range of ways in which facilitating is part of artistic research. We are inviting two ways to contribute:
1. We invite proposals for in-person presentations/activations of up to 15 minutes each, followed by Q&A and feedback opportunities.
2. We invite proposals for contributions to an on-line repository as an exposition of facilitation practices. This repository will be available at the conference and while it can also stand alone as a resource, it is intended to support us in imagining future SIG meetings at SAR Forums that will allow us to experience facilitating approaches in addition to presenting about them.
