I was looking at some postcards and at the nature depicted on classic 18th-century china, and I asked myself: why does nature always have the colours of Fragonard's paintings?
J.H. Fragonard is for me the painter that has depicted the love-hate feeling in the most convincing way: love surrounded by nature represented in sour sweet colors.
A mix of attraction and rejection.
As a metaphor for technology embracing nature or its opposite.
I collected some colours of one of his painting and created ceramic colors with it for my ex-votos. Those ones wish to protect the ideal nature, the one that is on the postcards: the ones we send to our family from a gas station near by the highway to say: look how it is beautiful!
