My name is Tobias Andersson, I am a guitarist and composer working in the field of jazz and improvised music. The In flux research project is part of my studies on the master program in improvisation and world music at the Academy of Music and Drama (HSM) in Gothenburg finished 2023.
In flux is my investigation of how I as an improvising performer can develop musical ideas directly from a musical material, trying its elasticity and plasticity, keeping the development of the music in constant motion. The reader is invited to freely navigate the exposé in any order that feels intuitive. On "The Outset" page I present my starting point and original goals for the project. The musical results are presented on the page "The Music" together with analytical and reflective text. The "Checkpoint" is where I have gathered final reflections on the project as a whole.
