Additional iterations: Based on Katharina's interest in physically building a 'cloud violin', Robert Woodley created the animation to the right. Several years after our initial conversation, Katharina visited me in my studio in Chicago, where I was conducting similar conversations. Without access to funding at the time, instead of commissioning responses, I asked artists to improvise in response, a process I recorded photographically and through very short video/sound clips, digitally collaging the material later.
