Philip Sande: "Etude" for Quartertone marimba 2003.
Philip Sande wrote the etude for the workshop at the composition depeartment at the Norwegian Academy of Music. The piece was performed by matertudent Sigrun Gomnes. He wanted to write an expressive piece including "ping pong balls" as an ending!

Scoring:

Sande only used the 3 row of the quartertone marimba ("the quartertone flattend white keys"), and only the quartertone down symbol.

"The end, drop ping pong balls on the marimba, and let them bounce freely".
