When working with such a special site as Spode it's easy to start feeling as if the site has a soul or a personality. Some kind of spiritual essence. One might start to develop a form of friendship with the site. This relationship between a young artist and an old factory reminds me of the relationship between young people and their grandparents, there's a strong personal connection that you hope will last forever, but you know the old person is going away, probably sooner than later, and there's nothing you can do about it. Trough my work I've tried to get to know Spode as I would a person. Tried to figure out ways to help to make things better and to let Spode speak it's mind. Who is Spode today? And what does it think of the future?
