Lena Kaapke (1989, Germany) is based Kiel. She started in 2008 to study arts and Latin for teaching at the Christian Albrechts University of Kiel and later at the Muthesius Kunsthochschule. Kaapke finished her BA in March 2012.
Since October 2009 I have been studying free art and ceramics as a student of Prof. Dr. Kerstin Abraham. This year I decided to fully concentrate on free arts. I'm looking forward to improving my capabilities and take part in more projects.
My work focuses on installations with domestic ware. The starting point of my work is always a concept with regards to content, which is then transported by the form. I enjoy stillness, subtlety, color harmonies, and the interaction of many individual parts. My work often mirrors my desire for beauty and harmony.
At the moment, I am keen to work with self-set standards. I am interested in the combination of art and science to give voice to my own artistic concepts.
