Camilla Holm Birkeland (1986, Norway) lives in Bergen and is in her last year of a BA in photography at Bergen Academy of Art and Design.
Camilla Holm Birkeland is from the island Bokn on the west coast of Norway and is currently studying at Bergen National Academy of Art and Design, in her last year of a Bachelor degree in photography. Her work is cinematically influenced and in her recent work she has applied herself as a fictional character.
I get my inspiration from literature and films, but also through my personal life and everyday situations. I think of my photographs as short stories in a book. I create and build a fictional situation by putting a character into it. The character represents a mood or a state of mind, and the surroundings are an important part of setting that certain feeling to my work.
