H A V by Elin Tanding Sørensen

HAV evokes the spatiality of the undersea landscape together with the colours and lifeforms within this hidden, fluid realm. HAV has many co-creators: barnacles and marine biologists, porcelain, sugar kelp, saltwater, ceramicists, crabs, clay, annelids and many more. HAV was orchestrated by artist and landscape architect Elin T. Sørensen as part of her doctoral project “Multispecies Neighborhoods in Urban Sea Areas,” the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, NMBU. Have you ever tasted barnacles? That’s the Shore crabs at Solbergstrand’s favourite. In fact, barnacle are small crustacean filtering seawater to extract nutrients and hence cleaning the water — but, unfortunately, they're also a delicacy on the shore crab's menu ...

Starring Shore crabs (Carcinus maenas) and Goldsinny wrasse (Ctenolabrus rupestris), a marine biologist (Homo sapiens oceanus), critters and sea wrack in the sand bottom habitat at Solbergstrand.
