durational performance, as part of "Narratives of Imperfection"
Cracks in concrete floors are extremely common. They typically occur due to drying, shrinkage, thermal movement or badly placed control joints.Cracking may also result from unusual pressures beneath the foundation. Usually, small cracks are repaired with colored cement paste, or color patch. Another method uses low-pressure injection of an epoxy or polyurethane foam material.
During the durational performance, the cracks in the floor of the gallery get filled up and visually emphasized with Urushi lacquer and bronze.
