In my environment, oral memory was always more determinant than written memory. I have in my head endless stories told by my parents passed down from generation to generation about incredible feats, unexplainable events, witches and ghosts among others. When I made the "choreographic chat" in the Netherlands, I used post its. But when I did this exercise in Colombia these small colored papers were alien to the environment. Soon after, the word took its important place and the papers lost importance.
This is how I decided to create an ephemeral sound memory that would support the written word. This ephemeral sound box is made with a circuit that records up to 10 seconds of sound. These 10 seconds of sound can be heard but a new recording deletes the previous one. This circuit goes inside an object almost always a box or an object of the home ... a bucket of eggs, a box of tea or a shoe. The idea is that it be used in choreographic chat as a conversation tool among the people who participate.
