Natural Tactile Textures

I have collected images of natural tactile textures:

materials or natural surfaces that have a 'high touchability'.

'The natural world is rich in texture: the surface of any visible object is textured at certain scale. A wealth of textures are observed on both artificial and natural objects such as those on wood, plants, materials and skin. In a general sense, the word texture refers to surface characteristics and appearance of an object given by the size, shape, density, arrangement, proportion of its elementary parts. A texture is usually described as smooth or rough, soft or hard, coarse of fine, matt or glossy, and etc.' (Auckland, School of Computer Science, n.d., par. 1).

Tacttile textures refer to the immediate tangible feel of a surface.

Textures:the feel, appearance, or consistency of a surface or a substance.

– skin texture and tone

– the visual and especially tactile quality of a surface

– the physical feel of something — smooth, rough, fuzzy, slimy etc.

– the smoothness or roughness of the surface of an object

– tactile quality of an object’s surface that appeals to our sense of touch, and that may evoke feelings of pleasure, discomfort, or familiarity.
