Lectorate event
On 25 January, the lectorate ‘Music, Education and Society’ presented the results of last year’s research and introduced three new research groups. In the upcoming year, the lectorate will bring together researchers from within and outside of the Royal Conservatoire to delve deeper into the ‘Fundamentals of Musical Training’, the concept of ‘Making in Music’ and the possibilities for ‘Curating Music’. In a packed Studio 1, the festive evening opened with an inspiring talk by lector Paul Craenen, in which he presented his vision on artistic research at the Conservatoire. This was followed by group discussions and interviews with the members of the research groups, interspersed with wonderful artistic interventions by researchers of the past year. The final products of these finished research projects were also presented in the form of a small exposition.
