MUSIC FOR THE INNER EAR
-an explosion of sonic potentiality
From June - October 2017 I encountered heavy resistance within the project.
I was trying to write imaginary music with the sounds, which I had previously catalogued and categorized. But, I was not satisfied with the outcome. The thing was, I didn’t just want to write imaginary music for the inner ear. I wanted to write good imaginary music for the inner ear.
I was not succeeding with this, and I refused to indulge in the warmth of the poetry in heavy metaphoric language.
I simply refused.
As a result, the project was becoming a fatiguing process, and in the end, the use of text to describe music seemed barren to me. Almost dead in a way.
I longed for the warmth and poetry in music, and I felt an increasing urge to let go of my initial method.
I wanted to move on.
