With a Sycamore in Humlegården 1 & 2
Between 7.1.2017 and 16.12.2017 I visited a sycamore in Humlegården in Stockholm altogether 44 times. These visits were recorded on video and edited into the full length recordings With a Sycamore in Humlegården 1 (Spring) and With a Sycamore in Humlegården 2 (Spring) (á 1h 45 min 10 sec) as well into With a Sycamore in Humlegården 1 (Autumn) and With a Sycamore in Humlegården 2 (Autumn) (á 1 h 26 min 14 sec).
For presentation purposes a two-channel installation With a Sycamore in Humlegården 1 and 2 (á 44 min 10 sec.) is edited with one minute images of each session, shown here below with very much reduced file size.
These visits formed one part of the artistic research project Performing with Plants, and were also documented as still images and in blog posts, accessible here: https://www.researchcatalogue.net/view/316550/325188
The project as a whole, including the initial research proposal, is available here: https://www.researchcatalogue.net/view/316550/316551
(Please note, that the material of the whole project is not meant to be explored for the purposes of the working group exhange)
The videos have not been publicly shown at an exhibition, nor have they served as a backdrop for a performance lecture, nor have I used them as examples when writing, yet. I chose this work for the purposes of the working group process because it demonstrates a very basic artistic problem, the question of the framing of the image and the distance to the camera, when trying to perform with entities of the size of a sycamore.
