Project "B.O.D.Y."
piece of glass-for spiral form by Erika Matsunami, 2012 (This is a core (heart) of my concept for the spatial installation (8-ch-soundinstallation) and for the audiovisual work B.O.D.Y. 2012-2013. It's a part of my sound work for the Sonority also.) (miniatures-through the simple repetition will be abstracted and finally it's not "piece of glass". This piece is a part of my sound composition which is created with pieces of broken glass.)

A part of this sound is created/generated with Shepard tone.
A Shepard tone, named after Roger Shepard, is a sound consisting of a superposition of sine waves separated by octaves. This creates the auditory illusion of a tone that continually ascends or descends in pitch.
This piece is a part of my sound composition with Nikals Schmincke which is created with pieces of broken glass.

B.O.D.Y. - piece of glass (2012/2024)
The representation of 4-Dimensional Sound Composition. (This composition can work the sound on mono, but the play (Wiedergabe) can with unsymmetric and multi stereo for time and space.)
Audiovisual concept and Sound composition: Erika Matsunami
4DSOUND system*: Erika Matsunami, Niklas Schmincke
*It is still open for a discusstion. My draft is for audiovisual work. A design is stereo, not for a mono-discrete diffusion. Thereby the question lies in the subject of 4-Dimensional sound composition.
The topic of this work is 'envision' and audiovisual work for 'Selfie'.
'Selfie' is a subject of audiovisual art (video art) in terms of 'performativity'.
“They call it 4D sound because the sounds are not only placed in any position in a three-dimensional field, but they also move in time. So, the sounds fly around, change shape, as well as implode and explode.
4DSOUND systems are encompassing environments where sounds are around, above and beneath us. Sounds can move into a distance far beyond the space we are in, or come intimately close to our bodies.
In a 4DSOUND system, the interaction between space and sound renders a social listening area where listeners are able to explore the sonic architecture built around them."
Video 3: #collaboration by Erika Matsunami B.O.D.Y. - Piece of Glass (2012/2024) and Rudy Orlandini Flusso (2024), 2024
When I saw this video without sound, with sign language and gestures, translating this body language into English and Japanese was not important to me. His 'expression' by his sign language dealt with the topics of space, time, and body in the 4-dimensional sound B.O.D.Y. - Piece of Glass in terms of 'randomness'. In doing so, I would like to explore it in the context of Wittgenstein's, which language logic we do not have a form in our language sense yet.
– A communication between deaf- and blind disabled people
The question of 'Sinne' or 'Bedeutung'?
In a performance it is possible to act, blind disabled actors can express themselves through their movements in the spatial installation (4 D sound system/installation) and deaf disabled actors can convert their movements into their sign language.
Blind disabled actors can use their sensory device and deaf disabled actors can use their hearing device.
The common sense of both deaf- and blind disabled actors is 'touch' and 'skin sensation'.
