A Diffractive Reading through Zen, Christianity, Nothingness,
(and) Through the Shadows of Death
ABSTRACT
In January 2008 prof. Eiko Hanaoka declares that ”It would be a great pleasure for me, if this book is able to contribute in some ways to bring about dialogue among various religions and to realize world peace in the future" (2008:iv). She is refering to her book Zen and Christianity. From the Standpoint of Abolute Nothingness. In 2024, I find it extremely relevant to continue the same task by declaring that it would be a great pleasure for me, to follow prof. Hanaoka’s declaration and to begin a diffracting performance reading of the mentioned book, through a Christian’s priestly senses, through a French 17th century Lament, allowing Self to be led by/through Nothing.
