All still images from Fragmente2 is taken from the filmed performance recorded by Patrik Eriksson and Vanja Sandell Billström, at Färgfabriken, Stockholm 22–23 February, 2021.
This exposition addresses Fragmente2 (2021), a contrapuntal choreomusical work created and performed by musician Kerstin Frödin and choreographer-dancer Åsa Unander-Scharin. The aim of the project is to compose, stage and perform a work where music and dance act on equal terms. The work is based on Fragmente (1968), a solo for tenor recorder by Japanese composer Makoto Shinohara (b. 1931), and is structured in a series of 17 fragments (starting with FX at the top of the circle of photos above).
To watch the video of the full performance (total duration 8:52), click on the image in centre of the circle. Clicking on a blue highlighted fragment code (FX, F1, F5, F8 etc.), will take you directly to a description and analysis of the artistic material and the choreomusical interaction in that particular fragment. The headings at the top left take you to the different thematic sections of the exposition.
