Soundscape Project TUB by Ilias Mavromatis (Ili Os)

The Soundscape TUB is a self organized “Projektwerkstatt” that explores the concepts of acoustic ecology, the relationship between people and their environment mediated by sound. With students from different faculties of TUB, UdK and other universities, the project stands in the intersection of science, arts and humanities, dealing with topics such as social ecology, technology, data collection, group dynamics and creative practice. Soundscape TUB works with the potential of sound and listening as a socio-political tool and science communication.

SoundscapeTUB is a student-led project workshop at the Technische Universität Berlin and Universität der Künste Berlin.

We explore the concepts of acoustic ecology, the relationship between people and their environment mediated by sound.

The interaction environment of the TUB campus can be used as a social and sonic commons model, a space where many people share an acoustic environment and can hear the results of each other's activities.

In doing so, we aim to explore the connection between our acoustic environment, scientific data, technology, society, and artistic thinking in practice on the TU Berlin campus, as well as the potential of sound to serve as a socio-political tool and science communication.
