Trisha Brown’s Cube consists of numbers 1-27. Using the number generator on
google LINK HERE, list down a ranmdon order 16 of these numbers.
(Make sure to set the options from 1 to 27)
After listing down the order, create 16 movements. You can use as inspirations basic movements such as:
- Swing - a pendular motion of a body part that can move forward and backward or side to side.
Twist - a partial rotation of body parts around an axis.
- Turn - inwards & outwards, parallel / turned in, & varying levels.
- Shake - a short quick vibrating movement in a body part or the whole body.
- Bend-a flex of a body part at a joint.
- Stretch - extending a body part or the whole body.
- Kicks - forward / back and side, on a plie/rise/jump, straight leg/developpe.
- Wiggle - a small or big, fast or slow curvy movement of a body part or the whole body.
- Sway - shift of the body weight forward, backward, side to side or in a circular pathway.
- Transfer of weight.
- Elevated sequence using different types of basic jumps.
- Isolation of body parts & impact of weight on individual body parts.
- Understand the flexibility of the spine & its function.
After creating the 16 movements match them with each number of the sequence and perform them in the corrisponding direction on the cube.
