AMPLIFY THE VOID
WHO ARE THESE WOMEN?
This participatory photography project
explores the use of photography and
social media, as well as the barriers to
employment, in collaboration with 7
young women, which at the start of the
the project were not in full-time education
or employment.
The online workshops were run over
several months at the beginning of 2021,
and the whole project was entirely run
and organised under lockdown. As a
result of this, the work produced has
inevitably also become about life under
covid-19 and a representation of the
process and issues related to the online
adaptation of the participatory
photography approach.
This project is run by artist Kallina
Brailsford as part of her Ph.D. research
at Nottingham Trent University, funded
by Midlands4Cities (AHRC).
