Domestic Violence under Covid 19

Feminism on Domestic Violence Since 1970, when the feminist movement made violence against women a central focus, where countless books and articles appeared to broaden the understanding of the political structure of gender, race and class inequality in which family violence occurs. The beating of women has been a substantial focus in the past decades, and knowledge of incest and marital rape has also been generated. The vulnerability of child victims, especially when their mothers are being abused, is one of the many common issues of concern. However, changes in socioeconomic and political conditions significantly affect public perception as do the different possible definitions of family violence; inadequate legal bureaucracies, for health and social services to provide protection, care and support to victims; and the endurance of the public / private sphere dichotomy with violence, with the first option being defined as “serious crimes” and the second as “family fights”. The failure of family violence reforms rather than ensuring the safety of women and children individually by scrutinizing and exposing their contradictions, does not, instead, preserve family unity and male-headed families.
