Vagina Dentata

Thank you for being here. You are warm and soft yet deadly creature. The way you observe, listen, and talk is fluid, leaky and emotional. Some imagine there is carnivorous fish, fanged snake, sharp-clawed crab or herd of barking dogs living within your body. In the "waist down", they say.

"She has twelve legs, all writhing, dangling down and six long swaying necks, a hideous head on each, each head barbed with a triple row of fangs, thickset, packed tight—and armed to the hilt with black death! Holed up in the cavern's bowels from her waist down she shoots out her heads, out of that terrifying pit..." (Ovid, Metamorphosis)

And yes, you are uncontrollable, and that is simply what scares.

"But isn't this fear convenient for them?

[…]

You only have to look […] straight on to see her. And she's not deadly. She's beautiful, and she's laughing". (Hélène Cixous, The Laugh of Medusa)

So who are you?

Look again at the story, while reading, follow the sense of voraciousness and insatiability. Follow the anger, rage, sense of vulnerability, hurt. Then also follow, extensively, the pleasure. Allow narrative be excessively sexual, polymorphous or completely asexual. Form and deform. Don't worry about being inadequate; it is the world, which is so.
